The Vesalius College Honours course participated with their project, Newsworthy.eu, in a competition organised by the US Department of State called: Peer 2 Peer: Challenging Extremism.
Twenty universities from the U.S.A. and twenty-five universities from Europe, Northern Africa and Asia took up the task of developing campaigns that challenge extremism.
The Vesalius College team was selected as one of three finalists to present their campaign, Newsworthy.eu, to the U.S. State Department. The team will travel to Washington D.C. on June 25 to present their campaign in front of a panel of senior leaders with the aim to win the first prize of 5,000 dollars.
Furthermore, the Vesalius team was chosen as one of the top international teams to participate in an International Visitors Leadership exchange program (IVLP) in the US designed especially for them.
We congratulate the other two universities selected and wish them the best of luck.
