Marketing Class completes Google Challenge

Dr. Alea Fairchild, Business Chair and Professor of Marketing, awards the internal Vesalius College winners of the Google Online Marketing Challenge 2011

This is the third year Vesalius College has worked with Google to teach effective online marketing.  This competition serves as a vehicle for gathering real world data and discussing online advertising’s role in online marketing.

The goal for students in the Google Online Marketing Challenge 2011 is to create an effective online marketing campaign in Google AdWords for a small or medium-sized business. Student teams receive free online spend worth US$200 to run their three-week campaigns, and compete against other educational institutions globally for a grand prize of a visit to Google HQ.

The team of Angelica Bano, Valentina Ronzo, Stefano Messina, and Jil Ames were working with a German first league Basketball team, the Gloria Giants Duesseldorf, with the goal of increasing the club’s website traffic, assisting ticket sales and improving the team’s popularity.
