IA Capstone Conference: ‘What We Learned from Peacekeeping – First-Hand Accounts’

The Center for Peace and Cooperation (CPC), formed by the International Affairs students at Vesalius College, is pleased to invite you to the event ‘What we learned from Peacekeeping – First hand accounts.’

Peacekeeping has played a pivotal role in the maintenance of international peace and security and is an essential tool of crisis management used by numerous world institutions and countries around the world. With its fair share of success and failures, what are the lessons that we have learned about peacekeeping? CPC has invited Ambassador Mohamed Igueh Ofleh, Deputy Representative of the African Union to the Brussels Office and Ms. Karin Limdal, Strategic Planner,at the European External Action Service (EEAS) who will share their experiences of working in peacekeeping missions. Both speakers have worked in and with peacekeeping missions, thereby taking different approaches both valuable and important to understanding present peacekeeping.  The conference will focus specifically on the obstacles encountered in the field and how they can be overcome.
