On 23 November, Vesalius College hosted guest speaker Mr. Luc Dockendorf, Desk officer for Human Rights and International Organisations, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, for the third installment of the EPSS Lecture Series.
The lecture began on a heavy note as Mr. Dockendorf reflected on his time in Brussels during the 2016 attacks. Mr. Dockendorf went on to speak about politics, diplomacy, and human rights policies at the UN.
According to Dockendorf, human rights are “A complex set of rights for people (not states) and obligations for states, both aspirational and normative.”
The lecture concluded with a Q&A and lite reception.
