H.E Mr. Masafumi Ishii, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium, concurrently Representative of the Government of Japan to NATO spoke about what Japan can do in Asia in a globalized world, and how the country sees the future of Asia and copes with it.

Japanese Ambassador IshiiAmbassador Ishii selected 4 major points – the importance of making sober assessment of Japan’s own power, identifying major regional trends, picking up on major relevant global trends, and then identifying what Japan has to do – and shared his vision with the participants.

His presentation and frank approach towards each topic and questions raised by the audiences made the lecture highly interesting and interactive.  The two hours did not seem long enough, and the stimulating conversation continued to the reception afterwards.
