On Wednesday, April 24, Vesalius College Department of International and European Law hosted Dean of Graduate and International Programmes Dr Stephen Barnes from the Pennsylvania State University Faculty of Law (Penn State Law). He shared with students and professors his view on the latest developments on United States’ constitutional issues. One topic that got the attention of the entire audience was Dr Barnes’ analysis of a possible impeachment of the President of the United States Donald Trump.
VeCo students were very eager to ask questions on the findings of Special Counsel Robert Muller in his Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election. In a very animated and cordial lecture, Dr Barnes explained with precise detail the constitutional mechanism that exists in the United States regarding the future of the head of the government. At the end of the event, Dr Barnes praised the legal knowledge of VeCo students and congratulated our academic staff and head of the department for the bright future of VeCo law programme.
