On Friday February 4, Vesalius College had the pleasure to welcome Economics and Business Studies students from Saffron Walden County High School, Essex.
Dean Joachim Koops welcomed the group and gave a short presentation about the college’s history and its unique TPEL (Theory-guided, Practice-Embedded and Experiential Learning) methodology. Prof. Koops started an interesting dialogue on the European Union’s role in international politics, its external and internal crises and the threats to the union. When talking about Brexit, and what this unprecedented set-back means for the union, students also discussed how they think Brexit affects their generation and future plans.
Another interesting issue raised was how the future elections in France and Germany might have an impact in the European project. A key message raised by the students is the responsibility of the individual during the current wave of populism.
