Academic Resources

Vesalius College offers students the best of both worlds: the personal attention and community environment of a small college and access to the resources of major universities. The College also shares academic events, guest lectures and participates in faculty exchanges with the Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent), Boston University, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Research and Library Resources

Students at Vesalius have access to extensive resources for research at three major libraries, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Université Libre de Bruxelles and The Royal Library, Belgium's national library. Together they provide students with access to over five million books. In addition, students also have access to a wide variety of online resources including thousands of journals and newspapers, library catalogues and databases.

The Study Centre

Strong writing skills are fundamental to academic achievement as well as professional success. The aim of the Study Centre is to help students develop their ability to efficiently and effectively communicate their ideas in writing. The Study Centre director and tutors offer students individual help on topics such as text structure, style, clarity and grammar in a relaxed and friendly environment to develop their writing skills and clarity.

Peer Tutoring Programme

Learning from one’s peers is an important part of the Vesalius experience. To encourage students to work together and to promote academic excellence, the College offers a student tutoring service in which students who excel in a particular subject are available to guide their peers.

Vesalius College offers a unique opportunity for all students to get additional academic help by their peers. VeCo Study Centre consists of a team of excellent students who are always kind and willing to assist you as much as they can. This is especially useful if you are a first year non-native English speaker.
