Dr. Olesya Tkacheva will join the Vesalius College faculty in January 2017 as Assistant Professor in Research Methods.
Her research has focused on Russia’s foreign policy and the nexus between technology and national security and has combined large-n observational analysis with cutting-edge social media analytics. She has an extensive experience working for the U.S. policy community and the academia.
Prior to joining Vesalius College, she conducted research on Russia’s foreign policy, cyber warfare, and democratic institution building at the RAND Corporations in Washington, DC. She spent 2015-2016 at the U.S. Department of Defense supporting development and implementation of U.S. policy towards Russia. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Public Policy and Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester. She is a winner of the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship and Fulbright Fellowship to Russia.
