Brussels - Truly a World Capital

Brussels easily ranks as one of the world's most cosmopolitan and diverse cities. Situated in the heart of Europe and with over 30 percent of its population being foreign born, Brussels is an excellent place to prepare for graduate school or gain a competitive advantage as you look to start a career. But Brussels is not all work, politics and studying. It is also a very relaxed and liveable capital city that is very fashionable, creative and, well, fun!

The Nightlife

Brussels has a wide variety of activities available at night. The city is host to a wide variety of clubs and pubs as well as an excellent music scene that includes almost any type of music, from local musicians to the biggest names on tour. Those interested in dancing can also find many venues as well as classes to learn a variety of dances including salsa, quickstep, tango, and swing.

The Cuisine

Brussels is a very culturally diverse city and its cuisine reflects this coming from all over the globe and considered to be among the best in Europe. From pastas, to fish, meats, soups and sauces, the cuisine in Brussels will suit any palate and taste. Belgium also produces some of the world’s best chocolate and is known for its excellent, well-crafted beers, and street markets filled with fresh produce and goods.

Art and Architecture

Brussels has numerous museums and galleries ranging from classical to modern art from all over the globe, the national symphony, opera, and theatre. In addition, the city has a rich variety of architecture including Baroque buildings from the 1600s, gothic, classic Flemish, art deco, art nouveau, and the modern glass towers of the European Union.

Student life at Vesalius College is very good. Brussels is a very lively city with a lot of history. Since VeCo is a small school, it allows for students to all know each other and make for a very enjoyable social life.
