Exchange Agreements with Consortium Partners

Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE) and International Studies Abroad (ISA)

CIEE and ISA are US-based organisations that organise global study abroad opportunities for US students. They have international university partners across the world, to which they send US students. Through our agreements with CIEE and ISA, Vesalius College students have the opportunity to travel to their non-US destinations as exchange students. In such cases, the Vesalius College student pays Vesalius College’s tuition to Vesalius, and pays institutional fees (including lodging, field trips, pastoral care, etc.) to CIEE or ISA. These agreements allow Vesalius students to study abroad in universities with which Vesalius College is not directly affiliated.

For destinations available through CIEE, refer to: http://www.ciee.org/study-abroad/search.aspx.

BCA Study Abroad

BCA is a US-based organisation that organises global study abroad opportunities for US students and has international university partners across the world. Through our agreement with BCA, Vesalius College students have the opportunity to travel to their US and non-US destinations as exchange students. In such cases, the Vesalius College student pays Vesalius College’s tuition to Vesalius, and pays institutional fees (including lodging, field trips, pastoral care, etc.) to BCA. These agreements allow Vesalius College students to study abroad in universities with which Vesalius is not directly affiliated.

For destinations available with BCA, please refer to the BCA website.

(Note: Not all of BCA’s US partners can serve as exchange destinations. Please contact the Vesalius College Study Abroad Office for more information.)

International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP)

ISEP organises global exchange programmes for US students as well as for students from its non-US partners. Through our agreement with ISEP, Vesalius College students have the opportunity to study with over 100 universities in the US. Under this agreement, Vesalius students apply for 3 to 5 different US universities in the consortium and ISEP is responsible for matching the student to the ideal US university. Students are asked to list their university choices in order of preference and ISEP makes every attempt to match the student to one of his/her top choices. Application deadlines for ISEP are very early in each term. The deadline for spring semester applications is 1 September. The deadline for fall semester applications is 15 February.

Under this programme, the Vesalius student pays Vesalius College tuition and fees, in addition to the cost of housing and feeding one exchange student in Brussels for one semester. This cost can vary from semester to semester according to the cost-of-living. Once the student arrives at his/her destination university, s/he will NOT be responsible for paying tuition, housing or meals at the host university.
