The Vesalius College Mission Statement

The Vesalius College mission is to educate students in an open and tolerant environment to prepare them for academic, professional, and personal success in an increasingly diverse and international world. The College’s faculty is dedicated to instilling a spirit of critical inquiry and ethical responsibility and preparing students to reach their potential.

It is the intention of Vesalius College to educate students such that they:

• Have sufficient mastery of their chosen field of expertise to be prepared for independent practice in that field or its application and, where possible, to contribute to its development

• Are able to think rationally and independently

• Understand nature and human society

• Are able to work on their own or in groups as responsible leaders or cooperative colleagues

• Are honest in word and deed, free of prejudice and fanaticism, and open-minded and democratic

• Are conscious of the current human condition, with all its conflicts and divergent developments, and are prepared to work towards a world that is more balanced without losing its diversity
